Busy Friday Night

Saskatoon Police Service reports a very busy night Friday June 1st with 283 calls for service between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Five of these calls were between 1:00 AM and 2:40 AM which were stabbings on the street where male victims were sent to the hospital with injuries. Some of these victims required surgery but none of the injuries are expected to be fatal. There have been no arrests, but there are suspects in a few of the files and Major Crime is investigating.
Although resources were stretched at peak of the calls, this will improve with the redeployment of manpower and the new Divisional Policing model that is starting June 3rd.
