The Saskatoon Police Service is reminding residents to keep theft prevention in mind during the holiday season.
Protect your purchases.
Lock them in the trunk of your car. Avoid leaving items on seats in plain view for would-be thieves.
Protect your identity.
Don't give away personal details on line or over the telephone. Only take the cards you need with you when you shop. If your purse or wallet is stolen a fraudster will have a harder time stealing your money and your identity. Shield your PIN from people who may be looking over your shoulder for the number.
Protect your home.
Ensure that your doors and windows are locked and activate your security system if you have one. If you plan to be away during the holidays have a neighbour or relative check your home regularly and use light timers. The gifts under your tree might be the target of a break and enter.
