Peace Officers Physical Abililities Test

For new recruit hopefuls the process of becoming a Saskatoon Police Officer can be both exciting and difficult.

One of the most challenging steps is passing the Peach Officers Physical Abilities Test or POPAT. Several times a year recruit candidates are sent through a circuit consisting of exercises similar to the physical rigors Police Officers face. Candidates must run short distances during which they encounter changes in direction. They must overcome obstacles, climb up and down stairs, and push and pull suspects to control them.

The media is invited to attend a POPAT, Thursday, March 20th, at 10:00 a.m. at the College of Kinesiology, 87 Campus Drive, University of Saskatchewan.
