Police have charged a 23 year old Saskatoon man with improper storage of firearms following a search of an apartment in the 100 Block of St Lawrence Crescent shortly after 7:20 a.m. on April 1, 2008.
Just before 7:00 a.m. Saskatoon Police received an anonymous call stating that a female appeared to be injured in the area of Warman Road and Assinaboine Drive. A non injured female was found who directed police to an apartment building where there were potentially weapons.
Patrol members attended to an apartment suite to investigate and found a male inside. While police were inside, several weapons were discovered.
Seized from the apartment were a 12 gauge shotgun, a replica handgun, ammunition, and a CO2 canister. The weapon was registered to an occupant of the suite who was not present at the time of the search and a long for summons has been requested.
This was one of the 66 calls that Saskatoon Police had attended between 8 a.m. and noon today.
