Street Robbery/Assault Arrests

A 15 year old male is appearing in Provincial Court this morning following a street robbery that occurred late yesterday afternoon.

The 14 year old victim was walking in the 200 block of Hilliard Street West about 5:00 p.m. yesterday when he was approached by two males. They demanded his hat and hoodie. The victim yelled for help and the suspects then fled on foot. Officers responded and arrested two suspects nearby a short time later. The 15 year old is facing a charge of robbery. The victim was not injured.

Another 15 year old male is also scheduled to appear in Provincial Court today in connection with a separate incident that occurred on March 31st.

A 14 year old male was standing at the corner of Preston Avenue and Taylor Street East at approximately 3:00 p.m. when he was approached by a male who threatened him with a knife. The male then fled on foot. Following an investigation by Patrol and School Resource Officers the 15 year old was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. The 14 year old victim was not injured.
