Arrest - Suspicious Activity

A 33 year old Prince Albert male is in custody this afternoon following a report of suspicious activity at a Saskatoon school this morning.

Just after 9:00 a.m. Police received a call regarding a suspicious male with a knife inside a school in the 200 block of 30th Street West. The male turned and left when he spotted staff members. They were able to give Police a very detailed description of the individual and responding officers made an arrest minutes later in the parking lot of a motel in the 600 block of Idylwyld Drive North.

No one was injured during the incident. Police are investigating why the male entered the school. It's believed this incident is connected to another which occurred minutes earlier. Police responded to the 900 block of Avenue D North and found that a disturbance had occurred at that address involving an individual believed to be the suspect.

The male is charged with one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, one count of Mischief, and one count of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public. He will appear in Provincial Court Thursday, April 10 at 9:30 a.m.
