A 16 year old Saskatoon male and a 16 year old Saskatoon female have been charged following a break and enter and theft, and a criminal pursuit by Saskatoon Police early this morning.
Just after 2:00 a.m. an off-duty police officer witnessed suspicious activity in the 900 block of 3rd Street East. She then alerted the Saskatoon Police Service and followed the vehicle involved. When patrol officers attempted to stop the vehicle a few minutes later, the suspects began eluding police and left the city limits. Officers engaged in a criminal pursuit along Highway 5, east of Saskatoon for approximately 10 minutes until they were instructed to end the pursuit. Just minutes after, Officers were alerted that the suspect vehicle had rolled just outside of St. Denis.
The two occupants suffered minor injuries and were transported to hospital. The 16 year old male is charged with Break and Enter and Theft, along with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The 16 year female is charged with knowingly occupying a stolen vehicle. They are both scheduled to appear in Provincial Court April 30th at 9:30 a.m.
