Update - Armed Robbery - Steady Night For Saskatoon Police - Release No. 150

Two Saskatoon youths are facing charges of attempted armed robbery following an incident in the early morning hours of April 17th.

At approximately 1:30 two males armed with a knife attempted to rob a convenience story in the 1500 block of 22nd Street West. They were unsuccessful in their attempt and fled on foot.

A short time later a cab driver was robbed of a small amount of money. The Saskatoon Police Service K9 Unit was able to track the suspects to a back yard nearby. Two males were arrested at the scene and charged with armed robbery.

The same males, ages 16 and 17 are now facing charges of attemped armed robbery in connection with the incident at the convenience store. They are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court Tuesday, April 22, on the new charges.
