Saskatoon Police attended several motor vehicle accidents today, some with injuries.
At McKercher Drive and Boychuk Drive a collision occurred at approximately 10:25 AM, where a north bound vehicle disobeyed a traffic light and struck a second vehicle that was making a left hand turn from Boychuk Drive east onto 8th Street. Three people, all from the north bound vehicle, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the north bound vehicle, who was the most seriously injured, is the subject of an ongoing Impaired driving investigation. Traffic Safety Act charges are also being considered.
At the intersection of 36th Street and Idylwyld Drive just after 1:00 PM today, the female operator of a west bound vehicle disobeyed a traffic light and was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Idylwyld Drive. No injuries occurred, but both drivers have been charged with Traffic Safety Act offences. The second driver was operating a vehicle unlawfully with "Learner's" license.
Just after 3:00 PM at Briarwood Road and Beechdale Crescent a truck ran a Yield Sign and was struck by another vehicle. An elderly female was pinned in her vehicle for a short time, and then taken to City Hospital by MD Ambulance with minor injuries. She remains in hospital for observation. The investigation continues.
