Three Saskatoon adult males are in police custody following an investigation into a gun complaint this morning in the 200 Block of Saskatchewan Crescent east.
On May 28, 2008, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Saskatoon Police received a complaint of a disturbance outside an apartment building in the 200 Block of Saskatchewan Crescent where a gun shot was reported. A vehicle description was given and believed to be involved in the incident. Police found the identified vehicle at 19th street and 2nd Avenue. A search of the vehicle produced a loaded handgun and all three male occupants are in police custody and facing weapons related charges.
Following the arrests, police entered a suite in the building where a suspicious chemical substance was found of an unknown nature. The Provincial Clandestine Lab Team from Regina has been asked to attend the scene. The building was occupied by nine other tenants who were asked to leave for their safety. Saskatoon Police have secured the building and are in the process of obtaining further witness statements.
Saskatoon Police are still investigation is this incident. At this time, the court appearance of the males in custody has not been determined.
