June 30, 2008 will mark one year since the remains of 19 year old Marie Lasas were discovered in a Saskatoon yard.
Marie Lasas was first reported as a missing person to Saskatoon Police. She was last seen leaving a friend's house in the 600 block of Avenue H South on September 21st, 2006. Nine months later her body was found in the 200 block of 33rd Street West.
As part of both the missing person and homicide investigations, officers have interviewed dozens of people and have tried to piece together the last evening Marie Lasas was seen alive. However, investigators believe that members of the public could still have valuable information to help them solve this homicide.
The media is invited to a news conference regarding investigation Friday, June 27, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in the Saskatoon Police Service 3rd Floor Boardroom.
