Three Saskatoon males are in custody following a response by the Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiators to a home in the 400 block of Avenue I South this morning.
At approximately 8:00 a.m. Patrol members received a report of a 35 year old male who had been beaten and his bike stolen at 18th Street and Avenue H. Witnesses reported seeing the two male suspects enter the home Avenue I South. Members of the SPS Canine Unit also tracked the suspects to that location.
ERT and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene just after 10:00 a.m. due a history of calls relating to firearms at that residence. ERT secured the scene and members attempted contact with people inside the home. At approximately 10:30 a.m. a female and two children exited the home. Shortly after two more females and a 17 year old male left the residence. Crisis negotiators were then able to convince two remaining males, ages 17 and 18 to come out of the garage on the property The three males were taken into custody. The incident ended at approximately 12:20 p.m. Charges are pending. Two of the males were residents of the home.
The 35 year old victim of the robbery with violence was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
