Patrol Stop Results In Drug Charges

Two youths have been released on undertakings and one adult has been remanded in custody following an investigation by Patrol Officers last night.

Police were called to the 700 block of 7th Avenue North just after 11:00 p.m. A resident in the area reported a possible break and enter to a vehicle. When they arrived Patrol Officers spotted another, suspicious vehicle in the area. Upon searching the vehicle and it's three occupants they found 103 Ecstasy pills, just under $1000 in cash, and a small amount of marijuana.

A 16 year old female is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Ecstasy), Proceeds of Crime (cash), and Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana). She was also charged with Obstruction following an attempt to hide evidence and flee the scene. A 15 year old male is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon. They have both been released on undertakings and will appear again in court July 21, 2008.

A 19 year old Colin Lechman is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Ecstasy) and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime (cash). He has been remanded in custody for a Show Cause Hearing Friday, July 18th at 10:30 a.m.
