On Monday, July 28, 2008 a decision was released by The Saskatchewan Police Commission on the Appeal Hearing of Larry Hartwig and Brad Senger. Chief of the Saskatoon Police Service Clive Weighill has since read the decision and offers the following comment;
“I have reviewed the decision from the Saskatchewan Police Commission. I am satisfied the process outlined in the Police Act has been followed, and I respect the judgment. This has been a difficult and emotional sequence of events for the Stonechild family, the police officers involved, and the community. It is the position of the Saskatoon Police Service that, barring an application by Mr. Hartwig or Mr. Senger for judicial review, this matter is concluded.”
At this time there will be no further comment made on behalf of the Service.
