Threat Of Weapons Prompts Police Response

Shortly after 11:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2008, Saskatoon Police responded to a firearms complaint in the 3100 block of 33rd Street West.

The report stems from a dispute between children that led to parents becoming involved, and subsequently a 46 year old male threatened to go and get a firearm.

Due to the nature of the report, attending Police members exercised caution in approaching the scene for the protection of all those involved. Eventually the male was verbally confronted while on his balcony, after which he exited his suite and surrendered to Police.

The suspect was taken into custody and a criminal investigation regarding weapons and threats is in progress.

More information on specific charges and whether weapons were actually located, will be forwarded when known.
