Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges

A 39 year old Saskatoon man will be appearing in Provincial Court Thursday, Sept. 11th, on drug charges following a traffic stop by patrol members.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, an officer on patrol noticed a vehicle engaged in suspicious activity outside a restaurant on 22nd Street West. The officer pulled the vehicle over at 22nd Street and Whitney Avenue. A search of the vehicle turned up over an ounce of cocaine, and approximately $5,000 in cash.

As a result members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at the driver's residence in the 300 block of Pendygrasse Road, where another ounce of cocaine was seized along with a handgun.

The male is now facing charges of two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, one count of Possession of the Proceeds of Crime, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm Without a License. (2008-93240)
