Saskatoon Police have charged a 20 year old Saskatoon man with one count of Hit and Run and one count of Causing Death by Criminal Negligence (Street Racing) following a fatal collision between a car and a cyclist.
The 20 year old man was brought into custody this morning in the 1600 block of Avenue D North on an outstanding Traffic Safety Act warrant. Charges in the fatal collision were laid late this morning. He will appear in Provincial Court Thursday, September 24th, at 9:30 a.m. The red Trans Am involved in the collision has also been found by Police on the city's east side, approximately 2 kms away from the scene of the collision. Police are still trying to locate the other driver involved and the grey Ford Mustang he was driving.
Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter. Numerous tips were received.
The 64 year old victim's name will not be release until next of kin are notified.
