Commission Of Inquiry Into The Wrongful Conviction Of David Milgaard

On Friday, September 26, 2008 the Commission of Inquiry into the Wrongful Conviction of David Milgaard released it’s report. Chief of the Saskatoon Police Service, Clive Weighill has since read the decision and offers the following comment;
I have reviewed the report of the Commission of Inquiry into the wrongful conviction of David Milgaard. I respect and agree with the findings of the Commissioner in regard to the Saskatoon Police Service and the many other agencies involved. The report clearly states that the investigation practices were in accordance to the standards of the day. Those standards have dramatically changed over time. The Saskatoon Police Service and policing in general have adopted new methodologies and technologies to substantively reduce the likelihood that someone would be wrongfully accused.”
