Update-Busy Night For Police

The Saskatoon Police Service would like to update the following information:

Saskatoon Police continue to investigate the complaint of an alleged kidnapping.

Police were dispatched to a business at 15 Worobetz place at 2:17 a.m. MD Ambulance attended with police and transported an adult male to Royal University Hospital in critical condition. Officers at scene obtained information from several witnesses and called Identification and Major Crimes to attend. Investigation is ongoing into this assault.

At 2:25 a.m. Saskatoon Police received a 911 call of a stabbing in the area of Avenue N and 21st street. At about the same time, police were called to an address in the 600 Block of Appleby Drive where a female was reporting a domestic incident which had resulted in an alleged assault. While dealing with these calls, the male suspect returned to the address on Appleby and was arrested by police. A 37 year old Saskatoon man has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Common Assault, and one count of Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident.

The male victim of the stabbing was transported to the hospital for treatment and is considered in stable condition.

The accused will be appearing at Provincial Court this afternoon, 1:00 p.m. in court room #1.
