Just before 2:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2008, Saskatoon Police responded to a call from staff in the beverage room of a hotel in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North, reporting that a male had just been shot.
Upon arrival, several witnesses indicated to Police that they had heard what they interpreted as a gunshot come from a bathroom in the beverage room of the hotel. Shortly thereafter the victim, a 24 year old male, was located and it was confirmed that he had been shot once in the right leg just above the knee by another male using a small caliber handgun. The suspect fled the scene prior to Police arrival.
The victim was transported to Royal University Hospital by MD Ambulance, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and released.
No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is continuing.
