At approximately 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Saskatoon Police responded to a call of a Domestic Disturbance in the 800 Block of Appleby Drive.
Upon arrival, it was learned that a 19 year old male had isolated himself in an apartment after assaulting two family members, and then indicated that he was in possession of a number of knives, would not be answering the phone and would inflict harm on anyone who attempted to enter the apartment.
Police spoke with the victims, identified the male and cordoned off the immediate area. Attempts to contact him were unsuccessful until he came out onto the balcony of the apartment and was spoken to by Police. He then surrendered without incident, following the instructions of Police members in the hallway of the apartment.
The male will face two charges of Assault with a Weapon, as well as two Breach of Probation charges. He will attend Provincial Court in the morning of Thursday, October 16.
