At approximately 8:30 p.m. on October 19, 2008, Saskatoon Police were called to a robbery in progress at a restaurant in the 3500 block of 8th Street East.
A man wearing a bandana over his face and a white hoodie approached the til / reception area and demanded money. The man had a crowbar hidden up his sleeve. He tried to force his way behind the counter and was apprehended by staff. Security personnel nearby assisted staff in holding the suspect until police arrived.
A 25 year old man is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning charged with robbery with violence, using a disguise during the commission of an offence, and carry concealed weapon.
Although the Saskatoon Police Service does not encourage citizens to put their own safety and security at risk, we greatly appreciate the assistance provided by the restaurant staff and security personnel involved in apprehending this suspect.
