At 7:36 PM this evening Saskatoon Police responded to a 911 call reporting the second vehicle - pedestrian accident tonight.
A middle aged female victim who was walking on 22nd Street West between Ave W and Witney Avenue, suddenly turned in front of west bound traffic to cross the street. She was struck by a vehicle and has been taken to hospital with undetermined, but serious injuries. The last update on the victim's condition indicates that she remains unconscious. A Police Collision Analyst has been called to the scene to continue the investigation.
Police are asking for Media assistance in advising motorists that the west bound lane of 22nd Street West, between Ave W and Witney Avenue, will be closed to traffic during this investigation of the scene. Motorists should plan an alternate route to their destination in order to avoid delays or traffic congestion.
