Just after midnight on Friday evening, Saskatoon Police report attending a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Warman Road and 51st Street.
The driver of a west bound SUV disobeyed a Red Traffic Light at the above intersection and collided with a north bound vehicle. The two females in the north bound vehicle were not injured, but the 28 year old male driver suffered a cut to his head and other non-life threatening injuries.
After the initial collision, the momentum of the SUV caused it to sheer off a light standard and smash into a nearby power pole. MD Ambulance and Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services attended and assisted in the extrication of the male driver from his vehicle.
Police Traffic Analysts are investigating the collision, and the male driver's license was suspended for 24 hrs. Charges under the Traffic Safety Act are pending.
