Collision Investigation Demonstrations

Saskatoon Police Service Collision Analysts are called to the scene each time there is a serious collision in Saskatoon. In 2007 the specially trained officers attended approximately 65 serious collisions. That number appears to be on a similar track for 2008.

Often the collisions involve injury and sometimes death, and each collision requires intensive investigation involving a number of factors.

The media is invited to attend demonstrations and displays by Collision Analysts including dynamic testing (skidding a vehicle), forensic mapping, and the Accelerometer, an on board computer used to collect data inside the vehicle.

The training will be taking place Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Prarieland Park. The media is invited to attend at 10:00 a.m.
