Saskatoon Police are asking for public assistance in identifying the persons responsible for an assault causing bodily harm that occurred in the 600 Block of Appleby Drive on November 11th, 2007 just after 2:00 a.m.
Police were dispatched to the area in response to a call of an assault taking place in the 600 Block of Appleby Drive. The possible suspects were reported to have fled the area westbound and a canine track was initiated, but no arrests were made. Information received to officers on scene came from a number of different witnesses and potential victims.
Police believe that an argument started between two different groups of people. About 5 people were involved in a confrontation with a larger group of possibly ten people. A security guard attempted to break up the two groups, and the larger group ran from the area. A short time later, the larger group came back some of the persons now armed with various weapons consisting of hockey sticks, a rake, baseball bats and golf clubs. This group assaulted at least two other people at that time, as well as the security guard who was still at the scene.
MD attended to the scene and transported the security guard and a female victim to the hospital for treatment on non life threatening injuries. Investigation is ongoing into this incident.
