Members of the Saskatoon Police Service successfully negotiated an end to a domestic dispute and stand off with Police this morning.
At approximately 6:00 a.m. Patrol units responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of McCormand Road. A 26 year old male had been involved in the dispute and was outside the residence when Police arrived. At that time he retreated inside with a young boy and was threatening to harm himself. Officers established a perimeter around the residence, made contact with the man and the boy was sent safely outside a few minutes later.
The stand off continued as officers spoke with man until approximately 7:30 a.m., when he left the residence and was taken to hospital for treatment and psychiatric evaluation.
The incident is still under investigation.
