The Saskatoon Police Service Fraud Section is asking businesses to report fraudulent activity by employees.
Fraud investigators are looking into a number of complaints involving fraudulent activity by employees. In some of those cases the employees have a history of fraud but previous employers have failed to report it to Police.
Recently a 40 year old woman was sentenced to 24 months in jail on a charge of Fraud over $5,000. An investigation by the Fraud Section found that Michelle Lee Boyd (Norgard) had been responsible for more than $300,000 transactions while she was the manager of a Saskatoon business.
She was also sentenced to an additional 7 months on outstanding fraud related charges in Alberta.
