The Saskatoon Police Service has charged a Saskatoon man in connection with an armed robbery which occurred March 5, 2009.
Dale Jacob Gilchrist, 25 years of age, is charged with one count of Armed Robbery and one count of Committing a Robbery While Wearing a Disguise following the armed robbery at a video store in the 600 block of Circle Drive East. He is scheduled to make his next appearance in Provincial Court April 8th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
Between January 5 and March 5, 2009 a number of armed robberies were committed in Saskatoon involving a pipe, crowbar, or tire iron. To date two males are in custody for separate incidents, Dale Gilchrist for the March 5th armed robbery, and Gary Laverne Sholer, aged 35, who was arrested immediately following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the 2600 block of Broadway Avenue January 19th.
The SPS is also requesting public assistance in locating a 28 year old man who is wanted for questioning in regard to the armed robberies. Darryl Wayne Dressler is also currently wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for Breach of Probation.
