On Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at approximately 8:17 AM members of the Saskatoon Police Service responded to a 911 call of an accident involving two vehicles in the 200 block of Avenue C South. Additional information received was that the occupants of the offending vehicle were fleeing the scene. Upon arrival officers initiated a perimeter of the scene and a Canine track resulted in the apprehension of four individuals.
A stolen vehicle operated by a 16 year old male with three female passengers was traveling westbound on 21st West when it failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a vehicle traveling northbound on Avenue C South operated by a lone 56 year old male. The 56 year old male was transported by MD Ambulance to St Paul's Hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries.
Passengers from the offending vehicle; a 35 year old female, a 16 year old female and a 14 year old female all refused medical attention at the scene and were released with no charges.
The 16 year old male is facing numerous Criminal Code charges as a result and will be in Provincial Court on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 9:30 AM.
