As a result of an investigation done by the SIDU (Saskatoon Integrated Drug Unit) and CFSEU (Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit), on Monday, April 6, 2009, at approximately 6:15 PM, Patrol officers with the Saskatoon Police Service initiated a high risk vehicle stop in the area of 20th St W and Avenue Q South on a taxi cab in relation to three males in the vehicle believed to be in possession of firearms.
Officers seized 28.2 grams of Cocaine and over $3500 from two 20 year old males and a 24 year old male.
The Emergency Response Team was mobilized and a search warrant was executed on a residence in the 100 block of Avenue N South. A handgun and ammunition was recovered in the search.
All three males were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine), Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of a Restricted Firearm and Ammunition, and Careless Storage of a Restricted Weapon. They appeared in Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at 2:00 PM.
