Just after 6:00 AM, on Saturday, May 2, 2009 Saskatoon Police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting an assault with a weapon in the 500 block of Avenue E South.
Responding members located the 25 year old female victim at her residence a few blocks away. The victim stated she had just been assaulted and threatened with a firearm by her boyfriend at the residence on Avenue E South.
Due to the possible involvement of firearms at the residence, Police attempted over several hours to make contact with the individuals in the house by phone. On duty Emergency Response Team members assisted Patrol members in maintaining a safe perimeter around the residence.
Eventually, all except one of the occupants exited the house on their own and contacted Police. The remaining individual was awakened using a portable loudspeaker and came out to speak with Police. A search of the residence did not turn up any firearms. The investigation will continue.
A 24 year old male from the residence was arrested on a Warrant for Assault, and will appear before a Justice either this evening or tomorrow morning.
No one was injured during this investigation.
