SPS - Suspension/Investigation

On May 12, 2009, the Saskatoon Police Service suspended a Constable, with pay, in connection with allegations of discreditable conduct and a criminal allegation of sexual assault.
The Saskatoon Police Service Professional Standards Section in conjunction with the Provincial Complaints Investigator will conduct an investigation and the results will be forwarded to Saskatchewan Justice, Prosecutions Branch, for review.
The 36 year old officer is a year and a half member of the Service. Police received the complaint May 12, 2009 regarding the incident which is alleged to have occurred while the officer was off-duty in mid February, 2009, and involved a female member of the public.
Police Chief Clive Weighill will be available to answer questions from the media at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Saskatoon Police Service Headquarters, 3rd Floor Boardroom.
