The Saskatoon Police Service would like to remind residents to lock their doors while working outside.
As people spend more time in their yards with the warmer weather, Police are receiving increasing reports of thieves entering homes through unlocked doors. Often this "crime of opportunity" occurs when entry is gained through an unlocked front door while the resident is working in the back yard and takes only minutes to happen.
Residents are also reminded to secure their homes if they plan to be away on holiday during the spring and summer months. Steps should be taken to have mail collected, lawns cut, and inside lights activated by timers.
Anyone noticing suspicious activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact Police at 975-8300.
