Members of the Saskatoon Police Service are about to end the last leg of their four year bicycle journey to raise awareness about diabetes.
The seven people bicycling will be joined by Police Chief Clive Weighill on June 9th and will reach their destination June 10th in St. John's, Newfoundland. This will be followed by a ceremony at St. John's City Hall at 11:00 a.m. with members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
The members, known as Peacekeepers Pedaling for Aboriginal People with Diabetes (PPAD), set off from Ottawa on May 21st in the final part of the initiative that began in 2005 with a journey from Vancouver to Saskatoon.
