The Saskatoon Police Service attended to a two vehicle collision at approximately 9:24 P.M. June 19th . The collision happened at the intersection of Kingsmere Boulevard and Taylor Street.
An eastbound vehicle on Taylor Street ran a red light, colliding with a northbound vehicle on Kingsmere Boulevard. The collision also knocked down a power pole, resulting in power being out to residences for about a three block radius. The two occupants of the northbound vehicle received minor injuries and were transported to Royal University Hospital by MD Ambulance.
The 20 year old driver of the eastbound vehicle fled the scene of the collision on foot and was apprehended by police a short distance away. This individual was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving, Refusing to provide a Breath Sample, and Hit and Run.
