On Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 11:17 AM, Patrol Officers responded to a 911 call of a Hit and Run which occurred in the 3300 block of 11th Street West.
A black Ford F150 pick up truck operated by a lone 47 year old male was traveling west bound on 11th Street West when it struck two parked semi trailers. At the time of the collision, up to a dozen semi trailers were parked on the north shoulder in the 3300 block of 11th Street West. The trailers were parked and waiting to unload at the elevator.
The operator of the pick up truck fled the scene on foot prior to police attending.
The registered owner of the pick up truck, also a 47 year old male, arrived on scene after the operator had fled. The registered owner was initially taken in to police custody but released when officers found he was not involved.
The male operator returned to the scene at which time he was taken in to custody. He suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to hospital.
The operator is under investigation for Hit and Run and Impaired Driving.
