The Saskatoon Police Service will be testing in-car cameras over the next six months.
The cameras, from various suppliers, have been installed in four police cars for testing before one product is chosen. It will then be installed all 70 police vehicles in the Saskatoon Police Service fleet. The cameras, which capture audio and video, are designed to document real time evidence in both traffic and criminal offences. They will also provide documentation in the event of complaints against Police.
The media is invited to view the cameras on Monday, June 29th, 10:00 a.m., in the SPS north parking lot.
