Saskatoon Police will be on hand for Canada Day celebrations to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone. Various Police units will be deployed in and around Diefenbaker Park for the duration of the event.
Traffic restrictions will be in place in the area of Diefenbaker Park during the celebrations. It is recommended the public arrive at least one hour before the scheduled start time of the fireworks. Once they begin, there will no longer be access to the park, and following the fireworks there will be delays in exiting. Police will be directing traffic to minimize those wait times.
Motorists planning to pick up pedestrians can do so at a designated area, located at Achs Park at McPherson and Adelaide. Parents planning to pick up their children are encouraged to plan a meeting point in advance.
Saskatoon Police also remind motorists to avoid stopping or parking on busy roadways to watch the fireworks. In addition, pedestrian traffic is prohibited on the CN Rail Bridge.
