The 17 year old male wanted in connection with the abduction of a 19 year old Saskatoon woman was located at a local residence overnight and taken into custody.
At approximately 11:00 p.m., January 19th, 2010, Saskatoon Police received information regarding the possible whereabouts of the 17 year old male. Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Pendygrasse Road and determined the male may be hiding in the attic of the residence. Due to the possibility the male may be armed, the Emergency Response Team responded and was able to take the male into custody without incident at approximately 1:30 a.m.
The 17 year old male had been wanted on a number of warrants on numerous charges including unlawful confinement, kidnapping and common assault. He is expected to appear in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
On November 18th, 2009, Alexandria Scott (then 18 years of age) was abducted from an apartment building in the 800 block of Confederation Drive by a male police identified as her estranged boyfriend. Investigators pursued leads over the next two days, taking them to Davidson and Regina. Alexandria Scott was able to escape the situation and was located safely in Regina on November 20th. The 17 year old male remained at large until he was taken into custody early this morning.
