Robbery Investigation: Charges Laid

Robbery Detectives have laid charges on a 28 year old male person responsible for a string of robberies in the fall of 2015.

On October 24, 2015 an armed robbery occurred to a business on the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive at approximately 2:55 a.m. Three masked people entered the business armed with a hammer and robbed the store of an undisclosed quantity of cigarettes. Attending uniform officers were unable to locate any suspects. (SPS file #2015-104013)

On October 27, 2015 an armed robbery occurred to a business on the 3300 block of 33rd Street West at approximately midnight. Two masked suspects entered the store armed with a firearm and robbed the store of cigarettes. They fled the scene in a minivan. Uniform officers attending the scene were able to locate the getaway vehicle resulting in the suspects attempting to evade police before hitting a fence on Cartier Crescent. Two suspects fled the scene, however, a 20 year old woman was arrested inside the vehicle. (SPS file #2015-104816)

As a result of these ongoing investigations, Robbery Detectives have laid charges of robbery x 2, face masked/disguised x 2, possession of stolen property over $5000.00 as well as six firearms related charges on this person.

The accused male has currently been remanded to custody on other matters, He will be appearing in court on these new charges at a later date.

The investigations are still ongoing.
