The Saskatoon Police Service would like to remind motorists that are traveling in the downtown core of changes to signage that now prohibit right turns on red lights at certain intersections.
With the installment of bicycle lanes along 3rd and 4th Avenues, additional overhead signage prohibiting a right turn on a red light have been put in place. Saskatoon Police Beat and Bike Officers will be educating motorists who disobey this signage in the coming weeks. Warnings or tickets may be issued when violations take place.
Under the Traffic Safety Act Section 235(5)(b), Make a Right Turn at a Red Light where Prohibited carries a $230 fine.
