On Sunday 4th September 2016, approximately 4:45am, police conducted a vehicle stop on Spadina Crescent, by the Queen Elizabeth Power Station. The vehicle initially attempted to evade police by accelerating to nearly 120 km/h and shutting off the headlights in the dark before finally coming to a stop.
Once the vehicle was stopped, two female victims escaped from the vehicle and ran to police where they reported they had been held against their will, assaulted and robbed. The four remaining occupants of the vehicle were arrested, transported to SPS detention and Target Enforcement Investigators were called out to continue the investigation.
The suspects, 3 adult males and 1 adult female, have been charged with Robbery and Unlawful Confinement, in addition the driver was also charged with Evading Police and Breaching his court ordered release conditions.
The 4 suspects will be appearing in front of a Justice of the Peace tonight.
