A 41-year-old man has plead guilty and been sentenced in Edmonton Court for robbing three financial institutions in Saskatoon in March and April of 2016. The man is also responsible for robberies of financial institutions in Edmonton and Calgary.
On March 28, 2016, two financial institutions were the victims of robbery in Saskatoon. Another Saskatoon financial institution was the victim of robbery on April 6, 2016.
At the time, Saskatoon Police GIS Detectives were also in contact with Robbery Detectives from Edmonton and Calgary Police Services and determined that the male person they had identified was responsible for the robberies in all three cities. Arrest warrants were requested and on April 8, 2106, the RCMP in Lloydminster, AB, arrested 41-year-old Gordon Allan Slater.
Slater's Saskatoon charges were waived to Edmonton where he plead guilty and was sentenced to eight years.
