The Saskatoon Police Service would like to thank the 1283 people who took part in its online Auto Theft Survey and encourage others to fill out the survey as it draws to a close on Sunday, October 16, 2016.
Since launching on September 8, 2016, the survey has asked a number of questions in regard to auto theft. It's part of a plan to develop more effective prevention opportunities and to better understand citizens' perspectives.
Vehicle theft continues to be a problem in our city. Between January and August of 2016 there were 679 reports of stolen autos made to the SPS. Even though the number was down somewhat from the year before, stolen autos remain a priority for police.
