A 28 year old Saskatoon woman was transported to hospital via MD Ambulance this evening after a Saskatoon Police Service member deployed a conducted energy weapon (CEW).
On November 26, 2016 at approximately 8:20 P.M., Police were called to the 1300 block of Temperance Street to investigate an allegation of a male breaching court ordered conditions.
Upon arrival the adult male was arrested without incident and removed from the apartment building. As police were leaving the scene a 28 year old women, known to the arrested male, exited the same apartment building and charged at two police officers while brandishing an edged weapon. The women failed to obey commands to drop the weapon and she was advancing on police when the CEW was deployed.
The woman faces two charges of Assaulting a Police Officer with a Weapon. There are no obvious signs of injury as a result of the CEW deployment.
The incident will be reviewed in accordance to policy.
