The Saskatoon Police Service will be focusing it's efforts on impaired driving beginning this weekend in Saskatoon.
The first of four check stops will be set up on December 17, 2016. Officers will be stopping vehicles in high traffic areas to enforce impaired driving laws. Motorists are asked to obey officers' commands when in a a check stop area.
While check stops do not normally result in high numbers of impaired driving charges, they are effective tools in education and raise public awareness around the need to celebrate the holidays responsibly.
If you plan to drink during the holidays, the SPS encourages you to make arrangements to get home safely.
