A 12-year member of the Saskatoon Police Service has been charged with Impaired Driving and Exceeding .08. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on January 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
Cst. Trenton Dament, 45-years-old, was arrested while off-duty after he was involved in a single vehicle collision with a curb at 8th Street and Boychuk Drive. Police were notified by automatic roadside assistance at 1:24 a.m. on December 16, 2016. Responding officers administered a roadside test and the results indicated that further testing was required using an Intoxilyzer.
Cst. Dament has been reassigned to administrative duties within the SPS pending the outcome of the court proceedings. The incident will also be subject to an internal investigation in relation to the Saskatchewan Police Act, 1990.
