An 18 year old man has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act for texting while driving following a single vehicle collision early this morning.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m., December 29, 2016. The car involved had been traveling westbound on 22nd Street when it struck a concrete barrier and rolled on its roof. The driver and another teenage male passenger were uninjured, while a 16 year old female was transported to hospital with minor injuries. An examination of the driver's smart phone showed that texting had occurred at the time of the collision.
