A Saskatoon man is facing a number of weapons related charges following an incident in which a vehicle refused to stop for Police last night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., December 11, 2017, a Patrol officer observed a blue, 2003 Chevrolet Malibu with no licence plate in the area of 20th Street and Idylwyld Drive. When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the car almost came to a stop before accelerating and continuing to drive normally. Police followed the car at low speeds until it came to a stop in an alley near Avenue J South and 11th Street West. One man, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of a scale, marihuana, a knife, a pellet gun, an imitation hand gun and ammunition.
A 41 year old Saskatoon man was charged with Evade Police, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Carrying a Concealed Weapon (x2), Carrying a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Marihuana. He was also issued five traffic tickets and had a number of outstanding warrants.
